After
a break of five years, The Blocked have reformed to promote their
new Detour Records release, "Smashed Hits". "Smashed Hits" is
a collection of The Blocked's early recordings spanning from 1992-1996.
All of the songs on the album are written by Jason Channing, the
band's vocalist /guitarist. The rhythm are section, Craig Addecott
(Bass) and Damion Channing (Drums). During this period, The Blocked
were a regular fixture on the national gig circuit enjoying support
slots with artists as diverse as The Damned to Laurel Aitkin.
Voted most popular band by Detour's "Takin a Detour" poll the
band went from strength to strength before the extremely volatile
relationship between brothers Jason and Damion came to a head
at the now infamous Birmingham Scene Club incident (see Detour
Details No. 2).
The Blocked are once again zig-zagging the country, wowing audiences
with their unique brand of Power Pop at Punk and Mod venues throughout
the UK. They are due to record new material in the Spring.
